County board Vice Chairman Jonathan Felton questioned whether it was favoritism to provide extra services to Princeville when other municipalities like Macclesfield pay for deputies by the hour. Evans said Princeville is paying for detectives, crime scene investigators and other support from the sheriffs office. Mayor Bobbie Jones said the committee needs to be looking for nonmatching recurring funds so the town can hire police officers on a permanent basis.
